DRILLING UNIT FOR DOWEL HOLES

The Duin Tenoner MW1-5 can be expanded with an extra option: a drilling unit for dowel holes.

After profiling 1 or 2 posts, the dowel holes will be drilled fully automatic. There will be no need to place the post on a separate machine, so considerable time profit is realized. Since the unit is located at the input side, the dimensions of the machine remain the same.

The drilling unit is placed under a sled, which is adjustable in height. It moves pneumatically from left to right and forwards and backwards over linear ball bearing profiles. The drilling movement is hydraulically slowed down during the drilling. Therefore the drilling speed is perfectly adjustable. The drilling bit can be equipped with different patterns. Transparent Poly Carbonate caps cover dangerous zones and an exhaust hood is placed under the drilling zone.

The height adjustment, the depth of the holes and their location on the posts are all indicated on mechanical digital read-outs.
